This is a 1986 Diamond Back Apex frameset. It features double butted Tange MTB tubing, bosses and braze ones for front and rear racks and fenders, and Diamond Back's unique triple spoke chain stay protector.
This frame was the smallest size produced at the time: the seat tube measures 17.5 inches center to top with a 20.5 inch top tube. The frame takes 26" wheels with rear axle spacing of 130mm. The bottom bracket is English and the seatpost is 27.2mm. The fork has cantilever brake posts, the frame takes a u-brake. Included is the original Tange Falcon headset in good working order.
The frame is in very good condition -- no dings or dents or major signs of corrosion. The paint and decals are in good condition, with small scratches and scrapes associated with normal use.
